A man with compassion.

Joe talked of how he has sponsored children over the years and is currently sponsoring ANGGI through an organisation called Compassion.

Compassion is a leading children’s charity. At our heart is a relentless passion to act on our compassion and empower every child left vulnerable by poverty. Our approach to fighting poverty is highly focused and personal. It’s summed up in three simple words: Compassion for children. For 66 years, we’ve been giving children the opportunity to escape the suffering and fear poverty brings.

We’re right with you in believing every child matters. As these famous quotes about children show, kids deserve to be safe, fed, educated and empowered.

Nearly 385 million children are currently living in extreme poverty.

Poverty has face. It’s a girl forced to marry because her family can’t support her. A boy sent to work on the rubbish heap, rather than the classroom.

From the womb to early adulthood, we stand for children, giving those born into the toughest of circumstances the opportunities they deserve.

Compassion works in partnership with local churches in 25 developing countries. Together, we provide resources, training and expertise to help the church give the children in their community the opportunity to escape from poverty and fulfil their potential.

Sponsor a child today and give them life-changing support including food, education, health checks and the care of local church.  Child sponsorship with Compassion is a unique relationship where you bring real hope and lasting change to a child's life.  Sponsoring a child for £25 a month will change a child's life - for good.

After his talk Joe toured the tables chatting with the members who all had a lovely afternoon and supported the thanks given to Jean, Edith and Marcus as the welcoming face of the club as we arrive each week.
